WHAT IS SOMATIC THERAPY? Somatic therapy is a holistic approach that incorporates a person’s mind, body, spirit, and emotions in the therapeutic healing process. In other words, somatic therapy looks through the lens of the mind and body as one entity. It's talk therapy yes, but we look at what's happening in your nervous system too and what it might be telling us is happening in thought or emotion. WHAT TO EXPECT/BENEFITS: • Feel deeply seen and understood within a safe relational container. • Get to the heart of why you feel stuck, stagnant or constantly anxious and overwhelmed. • Understand the neurobiology, physiology and impact of trauma from a polyvagal perspective • Understand the neurobiology of trauma resolution • Learn to tune into what your nervous system is telling you and regulate your physiological responses to stress • Get relief from stress, overwhelm and anxiety and discover all the hidden ways you might be stressing your nervous system out. • Discover the ways survival mode shows up for you and how to support yourself in practical, liveable ways. • Uncover core issues, unmet emotional needs and unconscious behaviors or patterns that may be getting in the way. • Experience sustainable and tangible shifts • Discover practical and liveable techniques and resources to move through life with agency and create your own personalized toolbox of self-support resources and practices for times you need it most. • Co-regulate with a nurturing, grounded, gentle presence. • Learn to understand and navigate from your internal navigation system WHO IS THIS FOR?
