I was never a big believer in discipline in my younger years, meaning.. as a child, the word "discipline" instantly gave me a sinking feeling in my stomach and conjured up shame and anxiety. I was never any good at that mysterious word because I had undiagnosed childhood ADHD, as in the 80's and 90's there wasn't a lot of talk about it yet. Years have passed though and the word has transformed into another meaning, one that makes my heart open instead of close down. Disciple.
